What we know

Downtown Houston continues to list 800 Bell as a planned office-to-residential conversion on its investment map. However, independently reported developer conversion plans fell through by January 2025, and the owner filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in October 2025 amid foreclosure litigation. No renewed funded redevelopment proposal or approved residential architecture has been confirmed. Earlier 2013 office-renovation renderings and 2025 academic reuse concepts are NOT renderings of an authorized current residential conversion.
