What we know
City-led preservation and future adaptive reuse of the former Imperial Sugar refinery, which closed in 2003. The nearly 40-acre district includes the Char House, silos and industrial buildings. Initial work stabilizes the Char House for potential office, retail, restaurant and commercial reuse; a final tenant mix and district master developer have not been selected. The photos show the buildings before conversion.

Design evolution
Compare how the documented project program has been presented over time. Earlier plans, marketing figures and later construction details are not necessarily evidence of a facade redesign.
