What we know
Segment 3B-2 reconstructs I-69 between SH 288 and I-45 South, including interchange work, drainage, new cross-street bridges and pedestrian improvements. Williams Brothers Construction holds the $695.5 million contract awarded in September 2024; construction started in January 2025. Current work includes drainage along Hamilton Street, the Jefferson/Chartres pump station and replacement of the Alabama Street bridge. This is an active construction package within NHHIP Segment 3. The larger downtown I-45 relocation remains a separate later package.
